Salah visits pyramids in Egypt

Mohamed Salah may be closing in on a £35million move to Liverpool, but the Roma star is not quite heading to Merseyside just yet. Th e fl ying winger has been the subject of interest from Anfi eld for much of the summer with Jurgen Klopp ready to pay a hefty fee to bring him back to the Premier League, where he famously failed with Chelsea. While talks with the Serie A outfi t progress, Salah himself continues to enjoy a well-earned holiday and visited the pyramids in his native Egypt and posted the resulting photos to Instagram.

Of course, Liverpool fans will be more interested in knowing exactly where Salah plans on fl ying to next with reports suggesting he could be on Merseyside to undergo a medical as early as this week. Although Roma had originally demanded a fee in the region of £40m for the player, it is understood that both clubs are coming to an agreement at around £35m. Around £5m of the fi nal fee will be made up of add-ons and performance-related bonuses. Salah, who turned 25 last week, has privately expressed his desire to move to Liverpool, lubricating the deal further.

Th e Roma star is on holiday right now, but will he be heading to Liverpool later this week? A return to the Premier League would mark an impressive turnaround for the diminutive forward, who originally failed to shine under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge. Although he was offi cially a Chelsea player for two-and-a-half years, he spent much of that time on loan at Fiorentina and Roma and thus made only 13 Premier League appearances before moving to the Stadio Olimpico permanently.
