Robbers burgle APC national secretariat, cart away Air conditioners

Suspected robbers early hours on Monday sneaked into the National Secretariat of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) located at Blantyre Street, Wuse II, Abuja and went away with two Air conditioners even as two of the rubbers were arrested.

Blueprint learnt that the suspected robbers vandalised security wires on the fence before they gained entry into the premises at about 2:30am.

One of the security officers who was on duty told newsmen that he heard some noise and decided to check through the back of the building.

According to the security source, the robbers had already removed one of the Air-condition and place it ontop of the fence for easy transfer to their waiting vehicle before the security men got to know of their presence at the ruling party’s national secretariat.
“Honestly I thought it was my colleague that was making some moves at suvh wee hour until I shouted his name then he answered from the main building not knowing the person I was was looking at, kneeling down was one of the robbers.”
The security source said his colleagues were able to arrest two of the robbers across the fence after others had already taken to their heels.

A chieftain of the party who pleaded for anonymity, said he and other concern members had complained of lack of adequate security light in and around the party house.
The kind of darkness that envelop the secretariat at night is better imagined,” the party man said.

When contacted, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Bala Ciroma, confirmed the development to journalists, saying, “The arrest has been made, investigation is going on.”
