Rivers 2023: l ‘ll run government of prosperity – Abe

Governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Rivers state, Senator Magnus Ngei Abe has pledged to run a government of prosperity for the greater good of all Rivers people.

Senator Abe gave the assurance, Friday, while speaking at a reception organised in his honour by the Amoni Grassroots Movement, a pressure group at Abuloma Ward 20 of Port Harcourt City local government area of the state.

The event, which was organised to receive defectors from other political parties, also had groups such as Voice Against Corruption in Nigeria, and pledged to support to the candidature of Senator Abe ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Abe said told the enthused gathering that, “By signing up to the SDP, you have signed on to a new code of behavior, a new way of looking at life.

“Signing up to the SDP is signing up to treating other people with dignity and compassion. This will make you greater and not diminish you.”

The SDP standard bearer promised to create a state where the real values of life would be taught to the younger generation.

In a related development, the SDP governorship candidate has assured that he would on no account sponsor any violence before, during and after the 2023 elections.

Speaking as a special guest at the annual convention of the Apostolic Church of Nigeria Maritime Territory in Bodo City, Gokana LGA of Rivers state, Abe told the people that he believed in a peaceful and just society and would do everything to protect the integrity of the Rivers people.

“Let me promise the Church that I am not a member of any cult, and l will not give to anybody’s child what I will not give to my own children,” he said.

National Chairman Apostolic Church of Nigeria, Maritime Territory, Dr Lawrence Ogbonnah in a sermon, admonished members of the church to always show thanks to God and seek His face in everything that they do.
