Resolve conflicts with diplomacy, ex-guber candidate tells FG

Former governorship candidate under the Kowa political party Thompson Enoghayin Osadolor, has stressed on the importance of resolving conflict situations in the country with diplomacy, saying that the arrest of Nnamdi Kanu is not the best solution.

Osadolor stated this while speaking exclusively to Blueprint when he was awarded a PHD in peace and conflict management from the Freedom University and Theological seminary African campus.

He maintained that Nigerians are longing for how the several conflicts bedevilling the nation can be resolved to enable for true peaceful coexistence, warning that some actions can boomerang on the efforts to bring peace in the country.

“The current situation of peace and conflict is appalling and the issues relating to the dichotomy between the north and south leaves people like me with a degree in peace and conflict to call the government to order and find a way to resolve the situation between the east, north, south and west.

“Citizens are looking at how the various conflicts can be resolved and are willing to give the government some guidelines on how to resolve the conflict so actions taken will not boomerang on the government,” he said.

“Arresting Nnamdi Kanu is not the end of the problem the best solution to the problem is to find a way between the presidency and the National Assembly and Judiciary should find a common ground so that the issue will not boomerang on the government as a whole because the generality of the people led by Kanu cannot be underestimated.

“We need a resolution that will actually harmonise the different groups,” he added.

He further disclosed his plans to contest the next Edo gorvership election on the platform of People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Another awardee, the Founder/CEO of Vox-Elect, a Digital Investment training and consultancy company Mr. Chukwunyere Ikenna George, said the magnitude of conflicts has put the nation in a dire situation, he however, urged citizens against becoming enemies to themselves.

“Tohe country is in a dire situation and there is conflicts everywhere but we should as Nigerians not become enemies of ourselves because the country belongs to all of us, there would be no tangible progress and development in atmosphere where there is lack of peace and we need to come together, think progress as a country and so I call out to many of us who believe in the project Nigeria that let’s give peace a chance,” he stressed.
