Premier League week 23 preview: Can the gunners overcome the tricky bees?

Arsenal will host Brentford at the Emirates Stadium as they look to return to winning ways with immediate effect. The Gunners were stunned 1-0 by Everton in their previous encounter and with a fixture against Manchester City looming, a slip up here will potentially blow the title race wide open.

Brentford are the form side on the table going into this match, unbeaten in nine matches, boasting four wins from the last five games as well as four clean sheets from their last five, lying seventh and just seven points off fourth placed Newcastle.

They beat Man City 2-1 at the Etihad earlier in the season; who’s to say it can’t happen here? Mikel Arteta remains without striker Gabriel Jesus, who is still weeks away from a return from injury, as well as Mohammed Elneny and Emile Smith Rowe.

West Ham will be aiming to secure back to back wins for the first time since October when Chelsea visit the London Stadium. The Hammers will fancy their chances against a Chelsea outfit who have failed to win any of their last seven away games.

Three wins and two draws from six games so far this year has seen them climb out of the relegation zone, while Chelsea have won just two of their last 12 matches since mid october, scoring just seven goals in the process. While they have won their last two games against the Hammers, they have won just two of their last eight visits to West Ham. What could be the outcome here?

Tottenham will have the chance to move into the top four when they travel to face Leicester at the King Power Stadium. The Lilywhites come into the game on the back of a 1-0 win over Manchester City, while Leicester were 4-2 winners over Aston Villa.

Harry Kane became Tottenham’s all time leading scorer with his goal against City, scoring his 267th Spurs goal to move above legend Jimmy Greaves. With Spurs having now scored 12 goals in their last five away games, victory against a Leicester side who have won just one out of 12 at the King Power is expected.

Bournemouth will be hoping for a home victory when Newcastle visit the Dean Court Stadium.

Brighton will travel to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park as they continue their push for a European place.

Fulham and Nottingham Forest will battle it out at Craven Cottage, with a win certain to do both sides a whole world of good.

Already four points from safety, bottom of the table Southampton will entertain Wolves at St Mary’s Stadium desperate to breathe some much needed life into their campaign.
