Poll: AL-Makura hails INEC, says exercise credible

In Nasarawa state, accreditation and voting commenced at 9:30 am with large turnout of voters.

As early as 7:am voters besieged polling units in their respective areas to exercise their civic responsibility.

Our correspondent also noticed large number of security operatives, who are on ground to check any breach of peace and check vote buying.

Blueprint observed that the voters were orderly with no skirmishes recorded. Voters who turned out for accreditation and voting, were anxiously waiting for the electoral officers to begin the process of the election.

In most polling units visited in Lafia, Doma and Akwanga local government areas, some INEC officials did get to their respective duty posts at 9:30 am.

There were also no noticeable incident of votes buying, but the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Meanwhile, Senator Umaru AL-Makura commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the smooth process.

He hailed the process and described it as peaceful and smooth, even as he expressed satisfaction with the turnout of voters which he described as impressive.

He said with the smooth process many people would be motivated to come out and vote.

He expressed hope that the electoral process in Lafia and the state at large will be peaceful and hitch free and called on the people to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner
