Police recruitment: 80,724 for August 3, aptitude test

The Police Service Commission (PSC) has shortlisted 80,724 candidates in the on-going recruitment exercise into the Constable cadre of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).

PSC, Head, Press and Public Relations Mr Ikechukwu Ani in a press statement, Tuesday in Abuja, said: “The shortlisted candidates have been scheduled to sit for an aptitude test on Saturday, August 3, 2019, in the 36 states of the Federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).”

Ani, who stated that the commission was mandated by President Muhammadu Buhari to recruit 10,000 Nigerians into the Force for year 2019, noted that  210,150 applicants were earlier shortlisted for the screening exercise from the applications received online.

“At the close of the commission’s recruitment portal on January 11, 2019, a total of 315,032 applications were received by the commission,” the spokesperson said.

He said the commission was currently sending SMS to the telephone numbers of the shortlisted candidates inviting them for the aptitude test which is scheduled to start by 8am, even as candidates could also check the comprehensive list from the commission’s website, www.psc.org.ng.

They can also visit the state command headquarters in their states where the comprehensive list will be posted.

The spokesperson said candidates are warned to avoid any form of examination malpractice as culprits would be apprehended and punished accordingly.
