Police arraign 2 for stealing truck injector

The police have arraigned one Ojo Gbenga, 32, a mechanic and Haruna Umar, 36, a driver in a Wuse Zone 2 Senior Magistrates’ Court for joint act and theft.
Both accused persons are resident of Mabushi area of the FCT.
The police prosecutor, Cpl. Francis Tanko, told the court that on May 31, one Adams Agode of Gitto Construction Company, Mabushi, reported the matter at the Wuse Police Station.
He alleged that the accused came into the company and stole a truck injector from the engine of a truck parked at the company’s premises.

The prosecutor told the court that the injector was valued at N500, 000.
Tanko told the court that Gbenga and Umar were former employees of the company, who worked as mechanic and driver.
He said the offence contravened the Penal Code.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.
The magistrate, Simsola Ademiyu, granted the accused bail for N100, 000 and two sureties each.
Ademiyu also ordered that the sureties must be resident within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the matter until July 9, for hearing. (NAN)
