A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ahmed Tahir, has said that the party “is currently undergoing reforms aimed at ensuring the development of the party.”
Speaking to newsmen in Kaduna, at the weekend, Tahir said the endorsement of the immediate past president, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, as the sole presidential candidate of the party led to the total failure of the PDP in the last general elections in the country.
“I am happy to inform you that PDP is undergoing reforms for good. The leaders and committed members of the party are doing their best to see that the PDP is revived,” he said.

Tahir, who is the former chairman of the Federal Polytechnic, Mubi, Governing Council, further said that PDP as a party has a very good vision, adding that what happened was as a result of sentiment and bias. He assured that PDP will soon be revived and it will compete with APC, come 2019.”
Fielding questions from journalists, he suggested that the National Chairmanship of PDP should be zoned to the North, saying since Ahmed Adamu Mu’azu had resigned, the leadership of the party should remain in the North”
He advised the APC to always put the interest of Nigerians above any personal interest in order to ensure peace and progress.
