Patriarch of Epu dynasty Abimiku marks 80th birthday 





The patriarch of Epu dynasty of Alushi Error in Akun Development Area of Nasarawa Eggon local government area of Nasarawa state, Hon. Stephen Abimiku Epu, has celebrated his 80th birthday in a grand style.

A press statement by his family issued to Blueprint, Monday, said the patriarch was surrounded by his children, grandchildren, family members and well-wishers.

The Catechist of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Akwanga, John Kuje, while conducting the prayers to mark the 80th birthday of Pa Stephen Epu, spoke about the blessing of a child bestowed on the Alushi community by Almighty God 80 years ago.

“The contribution of Pa Stephen Epu to education is second to none as he ensured that he trained all his children, the extended family members and those not related to him while he invested all his life in humanity. A loving and caring uncle, grandfather and a great-grandfather, who taught his children and his community morals and values,” John Kuje said.


Also, Mr Anthony Epu, described the celebrant as a repository of knowledge and history of the Alushi community, and asked God to grant Pa Epu long life and good health so that the Alushi community will continue to tap from his reservoir of knowledge and wisdom.

Surrounded by his children and grandchildren to mark the occasion were Mrs Veronica Enwongulu,  Assistant Director of Nursing, Federal Capital Development Authority; ASP Fidelia Epu,of the FCT Police Command Abuja; Ms Felicia Epu of Nasarawa State Primary Education Board; Mr Jerome Epu of Nasarawa State  Polytechnic, Lafia; Mrs Mary Mataki Blessed of Specialist Hospital, Lafia;  Barrister Alex Epu of Faculty of Law, Nasarawa State University, Keffi; Mrs Mercy Alex Manga of Federal Airport Authority; and Mr Godwin Epu of Maritime Authority Lagos among other family members and well-wishers.


Born to the family of late Mr & Mrs  Epu Anyu of Alushi Error, Akun Development Area, Nasarawa Eggon LGA of  Nasarawa state in 1942, Pa Stephen Epu was educated at the College of Immaculate Kafanchan, Government Teachers’ College, Keffi, College of Education, Uyo and the Prestigious University of Swansea, Wales in the United Kingdom before he returned to Nigeria to contribute his quota to the growth and development of the nation.
