Oyo state Police Commissioner of Police CP Adebola Hamzat has said the Command was ready to ensure-crime free Easter celebrations across the state.
CP Hamzat stated this in a statement issued on his behalf by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Adewale Osifeso, noting that the Command had put in place high level security measures to ensure a peaceful Easter celebrations.
“The holidays shall witness effective deployment of Command’s operational, intelligence and tactical assets characterised by visibility policing, effective surveillance, confidence-building patrols, intelligence-led stop and search to forestall any untoward happening during the holidays and beyond.
“Consequent upon the above, the CP has tasked Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and tactical commanders to personally lead patrols across all Government critical infrastructure, media houses, correctional facilities, banks, places of worship, recreational centres, public spaces and all entry and exit points within and outside the state.
“If you see something, say something and the Police will immediately do something. In cases of emergencies, the Command can always be reached through these emergency control room numbers: 615 (toll free) (Oyo state security response centre), and Oyo state Police Command emergency line, 08081768614,” the statement read in part.
