Oyo 2019: APC ridicules PDP, AP, SDP alliance

Oyo State chapter of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised residents of the state, especially prospective voters to be wary of the People Democratic Party (PDP).
In a statement issued the party’s Director of Media, Research and Strategy Dr AbdulAzeez Olatunde, the party said the union of the Accord Party, Social Democratic Party and PDP was a marriage of convenience, which not lead to any good.
APC while advising the party not to allow their internal wrangling affect the peaceful atmosphere in the state, declared that the factional congresses held by the party was a pointer that nothing good can come from an unholy alliance.
Mocking the PDP, Olatunde said the party would continue to be divided because of the selfishness and dispositions of all the individuals that formed the alliance, adding that an alliance built on distrust and greedy would be futile in productivity.
He disclosed that the two separate congresses held last Saturday had jeopardised the purpose of the coming together of various opposition members in the state.
“No one should be surprised about what is happening in PDP. There was crisis during the local government congress across the state and the factional congress held last weekend was expected. It is marriage of convenience among different greedy people and nothing good will come out of it.
“Some of the individuals that make up the party prefer a one man show and the same thing was witnessed during their time at the helms of affairs in the state. Oyo State can be built with collectiveness of individuals and not through factionalization or individualism.
“We believe people are watching the unfolding scenario with keen interest and can actually decide what best suits them when the time comes. We believe that no one will be interested in the violence and thuggery of the past. Hence, we want to appeal to our people to be weary of these politicians who are hell bent on returning the state to the yesteryears of anarchy which characterized their administration”.
