Osun: One dies in police shootout with hoodlums


One of the hoodlums terrorising Odemuyiwa village, Ile-Ife, Friday, has died in a shoot out with security operatives, Blueprint has reliably gathered. 


A source told our Correspondent that the hoodlums invaded Odemuyiwa Village in Ife Southwest LCDA around 6am and engaged in shootout with security operatives. 


According to the source, the security were responding to a distress call by the village head of Odemuyiwa when the armed arsonists engaged them. 


It was gathered that two of the gangs were hit and one of them who died on the way to the hospital was later deposited at Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital, OAUTHC Morgue. 


According to the source, the second suspect, a 44-year-old Timothy Elugbindin, is receiving treatment at an hospital in Osogbo, the state capital. 


The Police Public Relation Officer, PPRO, Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the incidence, saying efforts are on to apprehend other suspects.
