Special Assistant to the Edo state Governor on Inter-party Relations, Comrade Ikonomwan Francis, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari over the nomination as minister of Dr. Osagie Ehanire from the state.
He said Osagie’s nomination was a reward for his long years of hard work, commitment and consistency as President Buhari “seeks to bring the desired change.”
In a statement he issued yesterday in Abuja, Ikonomwan described Osagie as “a seasoned technocrat, disciplinarian” with “a firm belief that the only way Nigeria can move forward is for leaders like Muhammadu Buhari to be at the helm of affairs.”
He said: “I strongly believe that with Dr. Osagie Ehanire in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, he will be able to bring his administrative prowess to bear in any portfolio Mr. President deems fit to assign to him.
“Categorically speaking, Dr. Osagie Ehanire is a man of no mean repute who is from the highly exalted Ehanire’s family in Benin Kingdom, he has a sound moral values and with his outstanding performance in his professional practice as a medical personnel speaks volume of his pedigree and personality.”
The statement, therefore, called on senators from Edo state to “put behind their political affiliations by endorsing him as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
