Immediate past Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer (ED/CEO) of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), Dr. Faisal Shuaib, has been celebrated by friends and well-wishers over the remarkable achievements he recorded while on the saddle.
Recall that Shuaib was appointed the ED/CEO of the NPHCDA by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017, a position he held unto until October, this year, when he was replaced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Therefore, following the end of his tenure, friends and well-wishers, Thursday night, gathered at the Rainbow Event center in Area 8, Garki, Abuja to celebrate the achievements of the erstwhile NPHCDA boss.
The valedictory party brought together serving and retired directors, as well as members of the agency, who shared heartfelt testimonials about Dr. Shuaib’s impactful leadership.
The retired directors and stakeholders in attendance testified about Dr. Faisal Shuaib’s goodwill and enduring impact on public health in Nigeria.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the President on Health, Dr. Salma-Anas Ibrahim, commended Faisal on his dedication and significant contributions to Nigeria’s healthcare system.
He revealed Faisal’s unwavering commitment to addressing health challenges, especially during crises, and his hands-on approach to delivering vaccines to vulnerable communities.
Also speaking, a representative of serving Directors in the Agency, Dr. Abdulahi Garba, praised Dr. Faisal’s accomplishments, saying his digital initiatives and initiatives positively impacted on the staff, including salary augmentations and annual palliatives, even as he expressed gratitude and extended well-wishes for Dr. Faisal’s future endeavours.
In his farewell address, Dr. Faisal Shuaib redirected the focus from himself to the dedicated staff and partners at NPHCDA, attributing the agency’s achievements to their collective efforts.
He acknowledged the sacrifices of his family and expressed appreciation for the support from colleagues, friends, mentors, and stakeholders who played pivotal roles throughout his career.
“The celebration included the cutting of a cake, presentation of awards, and heartfelt testimonies from individuals spanning various sectors,” he said.
