The Director General of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed has warned corps members to be security conscious throughout their service year.

He advised them not to undermine their safety by embarking on frivolous adventures that could endanger their lives.

General Ahmed stated this while addressing the 2024 Batch ‘A’ Stream Two corps members during his visit to NYSC Kano state orientation camp, Kusalla Dam in Karaye local government area of the state.

He stated further that his administration would continue to ensure the safety and welfare of all corps members.

A press release issued by the director press, and public relations, Eddy Megwa, quoted the DG as imploring the corps members to live in peace, tolerate divergent views and maintain good conduct at all times.

“Social vices like hard drugs, hooliganism, truancy among others, are not allowed throughout the service year. Anyone that violates the NYSC byelaws would be sanctioned,” he added.

The NYSC Kano state coordinator, Hajiya Halima AbdulKareem Abubakar, while presenting the camp situation report to the Director General said all the camp officials had so far proven as pacesetters and team players with dedication, honesty and loyalty to the Scheme.

She added that all the registered 1,683 corps members comprising 776 females and 907 males had adjusted and acclimatised to the regimented camp life.

“Our Corps Members are highly disciplined, enthusiastic and have been actively participating in all the camp activities”, the coordinator said.
