NOA urges Lagos residents to collect PVCs

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) on yesterday called on Lagos residents yet to collect their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to do so.
The state Director of the agency, Mr Waheed Ishola, made the call while addressing some residents in Ikeja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ishola spoke while leading offi cials of the agency on a sensitisation walk on PVC collection.
The offi cials walked from Awolowo Road in Ikeja, through Allen Avenue to Alausa, while addressing residents along the route on the need for PVC collection.
Ishola said PVC was the only instrument residents could use to decide leaders of their choice.
He also called on residents who had yet to register to do so to enable them participate in the electoral process.
“I urge all residents who have registered as voters but have not collected their PVC to do so.
“Also, residents who are yet to register as voters should go to the nearest INEC registration centre to register for their PVC.
“The PVC is an important instrument to decide the kind of leadership that people want.
“I appeal to residents once again to get their voter’s card to participate in the democratic process,” he said.
Ishola said obtaining the PVC was of no use if people failed to vote during elections.
The NOA Director therefore urged residents to actively participate in the electoral process through voting for leaders of their choice.
He said the walk was part of efforts of the agency to ensure residents participate actively in the electoral process.
Ishola said the agency would sustain efforts aimed at sensitising residents to perform their civic responsibilities.
