Nigerian/Indonesia trade volume over N3bn

Nigerian Ambassador to Indonesia, Ambassador Muhammad Sulaiman has said that the trade volume between Nigerian and Indonesia is over 3 billion dollars.
Speaking with Blueprint at the Nigeria embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia, Ambassador Muhammad Suleiman said there are over 15 Indonesian companies doing business in Nigeria adding that the relation between the two countries has been excellent.
“Like I said, the relation between the countries has been warm and excellent. As I speak with you  volume of trade between Nigeria and Indonesia is over 3 billion dollars. And there are  15 Indonesian companies  doing business in Nigeria.”
“Some of these companies include Indorama which is managing Eleme Petrochemical Industry and  Indomie. For instance, Indomie alone have four factories in Nigeria located in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kano and Kaduna. it may interest you to note that the biggest Indomie factory in the world is based in Nigeria. This shows that the confidence Indonesians have in Nigeria economy. ”
Ambassador Sulaiman who said that he expect the new president of Indonesia, Joko Widodo to continue with the foreign policy of his predecessor, President  Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY),  to Africa in general and Nigeria in particular because of the business interest of the country in  Nigeria.
“For Indonesia  to have 15 companies doing business in Nigeria, it means a lot, because that means  investment running into millions of dollars . As far as Nigerian is concern we expect President Widodo to continue and even improve on the policies of his predecessors, who incidentally visited Nigeria in February 2013.”
The ambassador who disclosed that the trade volume is in favour of Indonesia added that there is no Nigeria Company doing business in Indonesia.
“Unfortunately, there is no Nigeria Company doing business in Indonesia. We do have Nigerians engaged in trading, but so far no Nigeria Company is established in Indonesia. ”
