Nigeria on edge, hold on to God – Ogun first lady

The wife of the governor of Ogun state, Bamidele Abiodun, has urged Nigerians to hold on to God, saying the country’s soico-economic challenges are putting the citizens on edge.

Abiodun stated this at the 9th Annual Zonal Convention of the Women Wing Christian Association of Nigeria (WOWICAN), Southwest Zone, held in Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital.

She lamented the recent increase in the price of petrol and the free fall of naira which put Nigerians on the edge, saying it is the most difficult time for the country.

“We are going through a period now in our country that is very trying. It is very scary. As one of the pastors has said, even to the wealthy, they are afraid, not to talk of the people that don’t have.

“We all know how much we were buying petrol three or four months ago and we all know how much petrol is today. We also know that it is not even steady yet and it may still be going up.  We know the cost of fuel once it goes up, it affects every aspect of our life as the cost of food goes up and the cost of everything goes up.

“He is the only one that can make the impossible possible. He is the one that in the face of adversity and when things are tough, it  will not be tough for us if we trust in Him,” Abiodun said.

Speaking earlier, the chairperson WOWICAN, Southwest Zone, Prophetess Odunola Raji-Adebesin, JP, urged women all over the country to continue to seek God’s face in prayer for the success of Nigeria and  charging them to take their rightful position in the leadership space of the country.
