Nigeria may face Argentina in China

A proposed prestige friendly against world champions Argentina for the Super Eagles in March may now take place in China after initial venue is facing logistics challenges.

“China will be considered as a venue for the game should Japan not work out,” a reliable source told SCORENigeria.

The match is scheduled for the FIFA friendly window of between March 18 and 26.

This will be the eighth time both countries will clash at full international level.

Nigeria have won one of these matches, while the South Americans were victorious six times including at five World Cups – 1994, 2002, 2010, 2014 and 2018.

In June, Nigeria will welcome second-placed Bafana Bafana to Uyo, before they travel to Benin in continuation of the qualifying series.

The Super Eagles are third in their World Cup qualifying section with two from as many matches.
