Nigeria Decides: Yobe records large turnout of voters despite security challenges

Yobe state has recorded a large turnout of voters in the presidential and National Assembly elections despite security challenges.

Blueprint correspondent who went round Damaturu , the state capital reports that, residents joined queues as early as 4.00am to cast ballots for the candidates of their choice.

The electorates in Gujba local government who their voting centres were relocated to Damaturu due to security challenge were seen in large numbers. 

The local government was divided into three centres of Government Secondary School, Government Girls College and Phase one secretariat all in Damaturu.

Though as early as 5.00am on Saturday, there was an attack at Geidam the headquarters of Geidam local government where suspected Boko Haram terrorists launched an attack, but the information is still sketchy due to poor network service in the area.

As at time of filling-in this report, all parts of the state is calm and there was no single complain of shortage of election materials.
