Nigerien military received a deadly blow weekend as it lost thirty-two soldiers to Boko Haram fighters its border with Nigeria.
Niger,s Defence Ministry which disclosed this in a statement described incident as one of the deadliest tolls inflicted by the insurgents.
According to the Defence Ministry “hundreds of assailants” reportedly attacked a military post in Bosso town on Friday evening. It gave a “provisional toll” of 30 Nigerien and two Nigerian soldiers killed and 67 wounded.
The ministry said: “On the enemy’s side, several dead and injured were taken away. Boko Haram elements effectively took control of the town temporarily, but now they were dislodged.”
