Niger has executed 299 infrastructure projects – Bello

 

Governor Abubakar Sani Bello of Niger said his administration from inception has executed 299 infrastructural development projects across the state. 

Bello stated this Monday when he commissioned the Broadcasting road constructed at the contract sum of N1.392 billion. 

He said the completion of such huge projects is in fulfillment of the administration’s commitment to give priority to infrastructural development.

He added that, “We have kept our commitment on this despite the daunting challenges from paucity of funds to heightened insecurity.”

He  said the commissioning of the dual carriage way from single carriage in record time of 8 months with aesthetic transformation of Tunga – Barikin Seleh is yet another promise fulfilled to Nigerlites.

He said, “Government has also completed 80 of mechanical/electrical projects such as electrification and installation of transformers in the rural areas, while over 30 projects in the public building sector have been completed. They include construction of fire service and Police stations among others.”

He said development of critical infrastructure is cardinal to the administration’s economic regeneration policy as a state which he said, is to attract investments into the state economy.

He said:  “This contract was awarded to Messrs Soject Nig. Ltd. at the initial cost of N1, 286,121,243.91. However, due to increase in scope and variation in prices, the contract was completed at the sum of N1,392,754,286.17. This is part of our journey in repositioning the state to an economically enviable hub.”

He assured that government will sustain the momentum of delivering projects that have direct bearing on daily activities of the people.

In a welcome address, the state Commissioner of Works,  Mamman Musa, said 12 roads were ready for commissioning in Minna  metropolis.
