A former Commissioner of Police in the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Lawrence Alobi has emerged the chairman of the South-south Community, FCT making a promise to work assiduously to pursue the transformation agenda of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Alobi, who made this remark at the weekend at the inauguration of the newly elected executive of the South-South Community in the FCT, underscored the need for united and indivisible Nigeria.
He said: “Nigeria is for all of us; we must work together to make Nigeria the nation we want it to be; we cannot do that in disunity, we can only achieve that in unity, determination in anything we are doing. Mr President’s transformation agenda starts with us; we have to demonstrate that and ensure that the president’s agenda is being implemented to the later to make Nigeria a great nation in the comity of nations.”

The former FCT police boss maintained that Abuja, as a centre of unity and nation’s capital, belonged to all Nigerians and pledged that his tenure as the South-south FCT chairman would work for the development of Abuja.
He said the organisation “stands for unity, progress development and integration and the wellbeing of the country.”
He also promised that he would run an inclusive and transparent administration and noted that the South-south formerly known as an endangered species due to its minority status would emerge as the majority in Nigeria’s scheme of things.
The chairman of the board and a former Inspector General of Police, Sir Mike Okiro, also called on Nigerians to be security conscious wherever they are and to love one another irrespective of where they come from.
