NCPC boss tasks Nigerians on JP tag

Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC), Rev. Tor Uja, while addressing representatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Chaplaincy in Abuja, stated that he would want Nigerian pilgrims to reduce the use of JP titles and improve the proofs of JP. “I want those ones who have gone on pilgrimage to come back and show and refl ect what God has done in their lives through Pilgrimage,” he said. According to him, “nobody who sincerely goes on pilgrimage should come back and remain the same; they should come back as witness and serve as evangelists and those who went on pilgrimage should rise up and tell the people about their life-changing experience.”

“Th e time has come when people should be struggling to abscond to Nigeria and not otherwise.” He stressed on the need for the Chaplaincy to also consider the possibility of sponsoring some of their staff on pilgrimage.

Th e Executive Secretary commended them on the value they have added to the growth and development of Nigeria. Earlier, the National Chaplain of the NSCDC, Commandant Taofeek Shedeihde, said they were at NCPC to felicitate with the executive secretary on his appointment. “We are joyful and happy that a man of God has been appointed, we welcome you into your new offi ce sir,” he said, adding that God had really chosen him to unite both the Muslims and Christians in the country.

He commended the NCPC boss for his “variable transformation” at NCPC since he assumed offi ce, last year. He affi rmed that a partnership between the Commission and NSCDC would bring glory to the Corps.
