Navy re-organises top ranks, redeploys 21 Rear Admirals

Nigerian Navy at the weekend re-organised its top echelons, positing 21 Rear Admirals to various units and commands across the country.
In an approval by the Chief of the Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, Navy Secretary, Rear Admiral SAG Abbah, is now the new Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, while the Deputy Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College, Jaji, Rear Admiral VO Adedipe, has been posted to Eastern Naval Command as Flag Officer Commanding.

A statement by the Navy also revealed that the Fleet Commander Eastern Fleet, Rear Admiral PA Onaji, has been appointed Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command, while Chief Staff Officer Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral OF Ofodile, is now Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command.

The new change also affected Director Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate, Rear Admiral AB Al-Hassan, who now Flag Officer Commanding Central Naval Command; and Chief Staff Officer Logistics Command, Rear Admiral SMD Usman, who has been moves to Naval Headquarters as Director Project Implementation Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate.
“Rear Admiral HA Babalola retains his appointment as Chief of Policy and Plans Naval Headquarters, while Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral JO Oluwole, will resume at Naval Headquarters as Chief of Logistics,” the statement said.

Also in the statement, Chief of Training and Operations Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral AA Osinowo, is now the Commandant National Defence College, while Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral FD Bobai, is moves to Naval Headquarters as Chief of Training and Operations.
“Flag Officer Commanding Logistics Command, Rear Admiral BEE Ibe-Enwo, while resumes at the Naval Headquarters as Chief of Naval Standards and Safety, while Flag Officer Commanding Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral IO Mohammed, has been appointed Deputy Commandant Armed Forces Command and Staff College Jaji,” according to the statement.

“Chief of Logistics, Rear Admiral T Dick, has been reappointed Chief of Administration, Naval Headquarters; Director of Naval Intelligence, Rear Admiral MA Emuekpere, is now Chief Staff Officer Western Naval Command. Chief Staff Officer Naval Training Command, Rear Admiral NP Aliyu, moves to DIA as Director of Logistics, while Chief Staff Officer Central Naval Command, Rear Admiral SI Enoch, has been appointed Director of Search and Rescue at the Defence Headquarters.”
The statement also said Commandant Naval War College, Rear Admiral MM Kadiri, is now the Navy Secretary, while Chief Staff Officer Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral TC Udofia, will resume as Commandant Naval War College.

According to the statement, Fleet Commander Central Fleet, Rear Admiral OH Ngalabak, has been appointed Director of Operations Naval Headquarters, Director Manning Naval Headquarters, Rear Admiral FF Ogu, has also been appointed Chief Staff Officer Central Naval Command, while Director of Search and Rescue Defence Headquarters, Rear Admiral AZ Gambo, will resume as Chief Staff Officer Naval Training Command.
