Nassarawa Assembly passes hotel licensing board bill into law

The Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Monday, passed into law a bill for a law for the establishment of Nasarawa state Hotel Licensing Board in order to regulate the activities of hotels and boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR).

Speaker of the House Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi  announced the passage of the bill after the majority leader Tanko Tunga (APC- Awe North), moved the motion for the passage of the bill into law in Lafia.

Balarabe-Abdullahi said that the bill if assented to by the governor would regulate the activities of hotels across the state for development to thrive.

“This bill will also boost the security and the revenue base of the state if finally assented to by the executive governor,

” The bill is very important to the development of the state, hence the need of its passage, “he said.

 Balarabe- Abdullahi directed the clerk of the House to produce a clean copy of the bill for the governor’s assent.

Earlier, Tunga while moving the motion for the passage of the bill called on his colleagues to support his motion considering the importance of the bill to societal development.
