Nasarawa traders seek improved security in market

Traders in Masaka market of Karu local government area of Nasarawa state has appealed to the state government to improve on the security of the market through the deployment of more security personnel in order to protect their lives and goods.
Chairman of the Traders Market Association, Karu local government area of the state Mr. Sunday Danladi, made the appeal yesterday while speaking to newsmen in Masaka, Karu local government area of the state.
He said provision of adequate security in the market would surely curtail the activities of men of the underworld, adding that if the market roads network would also be constructed, it would also help in fighting insecurity in the area as well as improving the standard of living of the residents and boosting the socio-economic activities of the area for the overall development of the state.
“We need more security, we need water, electricity and we also need drainage in this market in order to boost our socio-economic activities so as to improve on our standard of living and the standard of living of consumers and other Nigerians,” he said.
He called on the traders and Nigerians to continue to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and to support government policies and programmes at all the time in the interest of peace and national development.
The chairman, however, commended the state government for its efforts in constructing markets across the state and called for its sustenance.
