Nasarawa govt kicks off distribution of COVID-19 relief materials to 1,495 polling units

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa state has commenced distribution of COVID-19 relief materials to households in 1,495 polling units across the 13 local government areas of the state.
Sule made this known on Wednesday, during the presentation of the food items at the government house in Lafia.

He warned that any reported case of diversion would attract severe sanctions.
Sule instructed that the palliatives should be shared to the most vulnerable and poorest households to ease the hardship they are facing due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
“The state stirring committee of the COVID-19 will ensure strict supervision and key monitoring of the distribution process,” he assured.

The governor said the relief materials were donations from a coalition of private organisations and the federal government as part of support geared towards supplementing government effort in cushioning the effect of hunger in the state.
The 38 trucks of relief materials comprising rice, macaroni, sugar, spaghetti  noodles among other food items were presented to the council chairmen for onward movements to the various polling units for distribution.
