Following a three days warning strike embarked upon by National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital (UATH), pressing home their demands, which elapsed last week. The association has again given another 21 days ultimatum to the management of the university.
In a statement signed by its secretary, Ibrahim A. Abubakar, made available to Blueprint, said that the issue of teaching allowance for our members on COHESS 7 and 8 still stand as one of the key contending issues at stake.
On his path, the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Peter Alabi, confirmed the receipt of the letter and said that the management would  continue to dialogue with the union for possible resolution of the dispute.
“Management will liaise with the appropriate authority to ensure that the strike did not hold”, he said and appealed to NANNM to consider the plight of the patients for the interest of humanity.
