My husband divorced 3 of us same time – Fati

By Aliyu Askira

Fati Mohammed, 29, is the Kannywood’s ‘Sangaya’ famous actress that went for marriage sabbatical for years before she came back.
It could be recalled that Fati’s marriage woes began Immediately after her secondary school when her parents married her off to a former Managing Director of one of these first generation Banks.

When she was in her husband’s house, he allowed her to enroll into Federal College of Education, Gusau, where she obtained National Certificate of Education, but letter her husband added more wives bringing the number of his wives to four.
Here, trouble started as one of the wives caused a serious trouble that has become even a source of embarrassment in the husband’s workplace. It was even because of this, it was learnt, the management of the Bank decided to dismiss him.

However, the trouble did not stop there. Embarrassed by the entire crisis, the former managing Director decided to sack three of his wives at a go, leaving the controversial one that has compelled the man to sack three of his lovely wives in one day.
By then, Fati, who was with him for 13 years, was already blessed with three children. She had no choice but to pack and relocate to her parent’s relation in Kano state.
She left behind all three children in Gusau, under the custody of her mother. This is because the controversial woman they left behind is virtually a monster that can kill or subject their children to all forms of maltreatment, but their husband who was sacked from the bank has now secured another job in Gusau.

Speaking about her come-back, the cool and soft speaking Fati told our reporter that she approached Lilisco and Ishaq Sidi Ishaq to assist her secure film projects and it was successful as, “we produced some television series that is now being shown on DSTV.
“I also featured in other films like ‘Majuju-wajuju’ and ‘Kwankwaso’. Appearing in the film ‘Kwankwaso’ as a nurse was my greatest joy because all along my ambition was to be a nurse, to help women in labour, but this did not happen.
“My saddest moment was when we were shooting ‘Majuju-wajuju’ where I fall from a rock and had a dislocation, but it is part of the profession as such I am not regretting,” she told Blueprint.
However, Fati is now full of regrets and has recently promised that if God gives her a good man again, she would be the happiest.
She said: “All my ambition in life is to be a complete housewife, to take care of my children and give my husband all the respect and obedience that he desires so that I can make it in paradise.

“This was what I tried to do during my first marriage because both I and my former husband still love each other but the only woman now in the house will not allow us to go near him again.
On those she admires most in Kannywood, Fati said she has great respect for her godfather, Salisu Mohammed Officer, and the King of Kannywood, Ali Nuhu. Ali Nuhu, she said, and Jamila Nagudu are great actor and actress that cannot be easily found because both of them can interpret any script professionally.
“Ali Nuhu, Hadiza Gabon and Jamila Nagudu, including several others are the people I so much respect and pray to be like, but in true sense, my wish is to settle down again as a married woman,” Fati wished.

She also said that if a woman wants to be useless she can be, and if she wants to be respected, she will be respected, “that is why I love Kannywood and I will be here until I get somebody to settle down with. So I want people, including Blueprint newspapers, to put me in prayers”.
“When I went for lesser Hajj, I prayed hard to God for my life to be successful and now am so religious that any time we are going for location the first thing I take is my Hijab,” she added,
By nature, Fati Mohammed is a peaceful person and, according to her, if she is not on location she is always praying to almighty God to give her a God fearing husband.
“I am ready to stay in Purdah (Kulle) and my husband’s yes is always yes, his wish will always be my command,” she said but unfortunately, some people don’t think so of her.
“People see some of us as prostitutes and cheap women.

When they see us in films they would start rushing us, if they did not succeed in taking us to bed, they would then propose for marriage. And no woman will receive serious proposal from a man for marriage and refuse, so when we marry them, they will have good time with us for few years and later create flimsy excuses and divorce us,” this she said is the main problem all decent women would prefer to be in her husband’s house and die as a married woman, than to be an actress for life.
