Muslim media practitioners to honour Sultan with patron

Sultan of Sokoto and PresidentGeneral of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, will be conferred with the Grand Patron of Muslim Media Practitioners of Nigeria (MMPN). MMPN, in press statement yesterday, said the eminent traditional ruler will be presented with the honour at the body’s 2nd national convention slated to hold on 27th and 29th April, 2018 in Abuja with the Hon. Minister of Works, Housing and Power, Babatunde Fashola as chairman.
The MMPN national president, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, in the statement said the convention with the theme: “2019: Our Role,” was carefully chosen in view of the developments that will herald the 2019 general elections.
“MMPN hopes to use the convention to sensitise its members and members of the public on important issues and areas that are beneficial to their needs and the society at large, especially as we approach 2019. “We also believe the convention will create a good learning experience and networking platform for the attendees,” the statement read in part.
According to the statement, the keynote address will be delivered by Prof Taofi q Adesina AbdulAzeez, a lecturer and Imam from the University of Abuja. It said over 250 participants from different media industries and business interests across the 36 states of Nigeria are also expected to grace the convention
