Islamic preacher, Alhaji Muyideen Ajani Bello, has advised the acting president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, not to be distracted in the fi ght against corruption. He gave the advice in Ilesa, Osun state, at the 8th day Fidau prayer for the mother of Governor Rauf Aregbesola, Saratu, yesterday. He said Nigerians were in support of the anti corruption fi ght, praying that Allah would support him and bring President Muhammadu Buhari back in good health.

“We know that some people are disturbing you, Nigerians are behind you; we want to know those that are usurping our economy. We will continue to pray for you and we are sure that Allah will bring your boss back in good health,” he said. Earlier, in his lecture, the Chief Imam of Federal Polytechnic, Ede, Osun state, Dr. Taofi q Abdulhameed, urged the people to remember death in whatever they are doing.

According to him, the only opportunity to do good is when people are still alive, and warned that death would come unnoticed to everyone. Quoting copiously from the Holy Quran 57 V 20, the lecturer said “end will come one day and all qualities will cease to exist.” “Th e death that we have been running away from will meet us one day while Allah will punish those who refused to engage themselves in worship and be merciful with those that obeyed his commandments,” he said.

He urged Nigeria leaders to see their position as privilege, warning that other people could be in their positions tomorrow. Dignitaries at the occasion included Acting President, all South-west governors; chairman, Governors’ Forum and Zamfara state Governor, Abdulahi Yari; Kaduna state Governor, Malam Nasir El-Rufai; Alaafi n of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi; Deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf; former Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC), and Chief Bisi Akande
