Miyetti Allah condemns unnecessary bloodshed between Kaduna farmers, herdsmen 

 

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACABAN) Southern Kaduna chapter, has condemned in strong terms the unnecessary killings among farmers and herdsmen in Kaduna state.

Consequently, it has resolved to do everything possible to ensure that the people live in mutual respect, understanding and peaceful coexistence irrespective of differences.

Addressing newsmen after an emergency meeting with security operatives in Kafanchan during the week, the chairman of the association, Alhaji Haruna Usman Tugga, stated that they have make the resolution during the meeting to pave way for peace and harmony to thrive.

The chairman noted with sadness that lives of farmers and herdsmen were wasted incessantly in the communities over trivial issues that could be solved amicably.

Alhaji Haruna said MACABAN had to organise the emergency meeting with the security personnel and executives of the association of the eight local governments of Southern Kaduna over the recent crisis that occurred in parts of Kaura and Zangon Kataf local governments which led to the loss of lives and properties.

He said the leadership of the association has discussed strategies and modalities on how to work with security personnel geared towards finding a lasting solution to the menace bedeviling the area, the state, and the nation at large.

The chairman reiterated the readiness of the association to contribute and support efforts geared towards ensuring normalcy and lasting peace.

He urged the people to give peace a chance by avoiding all tendencies that would bridge the existing peace and pave way for meaningful development.

While commending the Kaduna state government on proactive measures on security matters in the state, Alhaji Haruna admonished them to as a matter of urgency, look out for additional strategies to combat the situation.
