Medical tourism’ll be a thing of the past – FMC chair

Chairman, Board of Management, Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Bida, Is’haq Usman has said medical tourism would soon be a thing of the past with the tempo of investment and attention accorded the health sector in the present administration.

He said this on Wednesday when he led other board members to inspect facilities and newly acquired diagnostic medical equipment at Federal Medical Centre, Bida and its outpost at Gawu Babangida, Gurara local government area of Niger state.

He stated that it was high time Nigerians believe in the quality and standard of care in most tertiary health institutions in the country, adding that Nigeria has quality manpower to deliver effective healthcare services.

Jere commended the present administration for providing the enabling environment for effective healthcare delivery to Nigerians in line with the Next Level agenda of the administration.

He also applauded the management of FMC Bida for the excellent services being provided to Nigerians resident in Niger state and beyond, despite the general economic downturn and low purchasing power of the inhabitants.
