May 29: Buhari, Sule working hard – Nasarawa speaker

 

The speaker, Nasarawa state House of Assembly, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has lauded President  Muhammadu Buhari and Governor  Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa  state for addressing developmental  challenges geared  towards improving the standard  of living of  the people.

He stated this Thursday while fielding questions from newsmen in Lafia as President Buhari marks five years in office and Governor Sule clocked one year in office.

The speaker stated that the last five years of President Buhari was eventful and worth celebrating considering the achievements recorded across all sectors.

He also commended and acknowledged the proactive steps taken by the president since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic in the country which he noted that it has helped greatly in containing the spread of the dreaded virus in the country. 

“Mr. President deserves commendation for taking proactive steps toward curtailing the spread of this dreaded virus.”

The speaker also underscored the pragmatic feet so far made by Governor Abdullahi  Sule in the last one year of his administration.

He said that the governor is consolidating on achievements of the foundation laid by past governors in the state and urged him to sustain the tempo.

“One thing I appreciate with the government of Abdullahi Sule is that he did not want wastages, he gives priority to the completion of projects he inherited from previous government which are life touching and is also initiating new ones, honestly I appreciate him for that sense of leadership and continuity.

He equally gave the governor a pat on the back for the proactive measures put in place in tackling coronavirus pandemic in the state which he said has gone a long way in curtailing the spread of the disease.

He however, called on the people of the state and Nigerians to adhere strictly to all safety measures against COVID-19, describing coronavirus as reality and pandemic that is threatening the present generation.
