Mali emerges champion of 2nd Int’l Dialogue Football Cup

Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja hosted the 2nd Annual International Dialogue Football Cup organized by Ufuk Dialogue Foundation. The event took place at the Nigerian Turkish Nile University Abuja recently. The main aim of the event was to bring together different nations through embassies in a friendly competition that would foster communication and dialogue between them.

A large audience of spectators attended the football tournament. The ambassadors to Mali, Palestine Burkina Faso as well as distinguished embassy staff from Indonesia, France, Lebanon, Pakistan and India watched and cheered for their favorite team The Cup was won by Mali after the team won the Nigerian team in the finals, which ended 2-0, making the second Nigeria. Chad came third in the group A round while the Turkish team came third in the Group B round. Other embassies that participated in the match includes Pakistan and Indonesia, who were both removed in the Group B quarter finals, Indonesia, Lebanon, Chad, Palestine, Burkina Faso, India, France and the Arab United. A CUP was awarded to the first and second and the third position teams at the closing ceremony of the event

It wasn’t only about the football; a charity sale of food and pastries donated by the NTIC Foundation also took place. All the money generated from the charity sale is donated to the NTIC foundation, for their campaign to provide stationeries to schools in Nigeria.
