Lalong reassures on rebuilding of Jos main market

Plateau state Governor Simon Lalong has reassured that his administration will reconstruct the Jos main market, as part of its campaign promises.

He said the state government is also working and attracting investors in various sectors of the economy.

Governor Lalong stated this during a media parley held Saturday evening at Victoria Gowon hall, Government House, little Rayfield, Jos.

He said: “I told the president that we need to reconstruct the Jos main market, because we said during our campaign that we will rebuild it.”

“The president has put a process on rebuilding the Jos main market, and we are following the process,” he stated.

Lalong said the state would benefit from the planned livestock transformation, adding that the programme is not only meant for the Fulani herdsmen as any interested person stands the chance of benefiting from it.

He said recently, the Danish envoy to Nigeria promised to help the state in livestock business and dairy production, adding that President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the upgrading of Jos to International Airport and six others for agricultural purposes.

Lalong said many investors are interested in investing in the abandoned Jos Rock Hotel as part of efforts to boost tourism in the state. He added that other investors are interested in the Plateau Hotel, Hill Station Hotel, amongst others.
