Lagos taskforce nabs 63 miscreants 

Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation and Enforcement (Taskforce) unit have apprehended at least sixty-three miscreants who have been terrorizing Lagos and its environment.

The suspects were arrested at an early morning raid around Oshodi area of the state

Director of Information and Public Affairs of the agency, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, in a statement made available to journalists, Monday, said the Lagos state taskforce carried out an extensive early morning raid of Oshodi and its environs where hoodlums were reported to have engaged in different forms of nefarious activities that had made residents and commuters restive.

“The operation which was led by the Chairman of the Agency,  Chief Superintended of Police, CSP Shola Jejeloye, lasted  for over 3 hours due to the elusive tendencies of some of the suspected miscreants, who attempted maneuvering their way from arrest but were no match for the Agency’s determination to rid the axis of criminal elements,” he said.

Jejeloye described the activities of the suspected hoodlums as worrisome against the background of due the harmful weapons and substances suspected to be cannabis recovered from them during the raid.

He further stated that these security operations are part of the Agency’s planned programme of actions for Y2024 that would help boost the confidence of Lagosians across the State.

The chairman revealed that a total of 63 miscreants were apprehended and would be profiled before being charged to court accordingly.

He assured Lagosians that the Agency had hit the ground running this year to ensure that no criminal element deprives law abiding citizens of their right to safe, serene and healthy environment.
