Lagos: FCID arrests 4 suspects over criminal conspiracy, forgery, others 

Operatives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) have successfully apprehended four suspects involved in criminal conspiracy, forgery of police character,other documents and obtaining money under false pretence in  Lagos.

The suspects were identified as Osinowo Olujimi Obafemi, 35, Sebastine Olamide, 21, Shittu Babatunde, 25 and Bilal Yekeen, 25.

The Police spokesperson of the annex, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Mayegun Aminat, said upon receiving a complaint from Mrs Shonekan Rukayat Mojisola, bothering on falsification of  police character certificate, obtaining money under false pretence, impersonation, forgery of signatures and official stamp, FCID Annex operative attached to X-Squad took swift action.

SDhe said this led to the arrest of Osinowo Olujimi Obafemi “M” 35 years ,Sebastine Olamide, 21years ,Shittu Babatunde, 25 years  and Bilal Yekeen, 25 years”

“I was called to update Nigerians on a recent major investigative breakthrough by detectives of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID Annex), Alagbon, Lagos. Detectives of Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex Lagos have successfully apprehended four suspects involved in criminal conspiracy, forgery of police character certificate including other documents, and obtaining money under false pretence among others.

“The investigating team conducted a search on the premises at N0. 267 Igbosere Road,off Obalende Area, Lagos Island ,Lagos state. Uncovering a plethora of fraudulent documents, including fake police character certificates ,seven medical report  issued from LASUTH belonging to several individuals, sixty-five fake international driving permits ,eighteen international driving license permit forms with different pictures belonging to different persons, one pack of both booklet of the traffic foreign vehicle regulation license, among others,” she said.

She stated that investigation confirmed suspects’ involvement in a criminal racket involving issuance of the fake police character certificate that led to the 10-year ban of Mrs Shonekan upon the presentation of the fake Police Character Certificate at the Uk Embassy. They also admitted to issuing forged document to several individuals.

Meanwhile, the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), FCID Annex Lagos, AIG Idowu Owohunwa, for the umpteenth time emphasises the importance of Nigerians reporting criminal activities as offender will face the full wrath of the law. He urged Nigerians to seek information from the appropriate authorities.
