Kuwait to distribute Ramadan foodstuff in five states – Abdullah

The state of Kuwait has directed its Envoy in Nigeria, Ambassador Abdulaziz Albisher, to collaborate with the Nurul Yaqeen Islamic Foundation in the implementation and distribution of foodstuffs in five states as Ramadan relief programme.

The chairman of the foundation, Mr. Sufyan Abdullah, said Wednesday in Abuja the relief programme is to alleviate the sufferings of the poor and the needy in the society.

He said, 1249 foodstuffs baskets were distributed during Iftaru’s Sa’im project which was executed in the states where 1249 families benefitted.

“Among the categories of the beneficiaries are elderly people, orphans, widows, poor families and many in refugee camps,” Abdullah said.

Sufyan said the foodstuffs’ distribution took place in Abuja, Kano, Kaduna, Katsina and Niger states.

He said this year’s distribution was the second year in a row after that of 2019.

He prayed Allah for continued blessings and protection for the State of Kuwait and the Federal Republic of Nigeria and their governments.
