Kurfi visits recuperating Super Eagles striker, Umar

Katsina State FA chairman, Aminu Balele Kurfi  in a surprise move has paid a visit to  injured Super Eagles striker, Sadiq Umar in Spain to.

The visit is to rally support for the recuperating player.

Blueprint can report that Balele, fondly called Dan Arewa  urged  Umar to remain strong and be fully focused on his  recovery  from injury, adding that the Real Sociedad of Spain striker is a very disciplined professional footballer and football family is praying for his quick recovery.

“We thank Almighty Allah for giving us the opportunity to visit our dear beloved brother, a good samaritian, someone who believes in the course of his nation, Nigeria,” Balele said.

“The whole football family in Nigeria, we are all praying for his quick recovery. His fans all over the world are also praying for his quick recovery by God’s grace, amen,” he added.

Umar had a successful surgery for his ruptured anterior cruciate ligament last week and he is expected to fully recover between six and nine months.

Balele visit though ‘unofficial’ will go a long way to reassure the players that Nigerians are solidly behind him in his quest to get well.
