Katsina NAWOJ trains 5,000 women on self-protection against rape, others

Katsina state chapter of the Nigeria Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has trained 5,000 women on how to protect themselves against rapes and other vices from men.
The state Chairlady, Hajiya Hauwa Abubakar, while addressing the participants said Governor Aminu Bello Masari sponsored the workshop.
She said all the 5,000 women selected for the workshop “will be educated on how to protect themselves against rapes, drug abuse and unlawful attack from men.
” Abubakar said an official of the NDLEA “will conduct lectures on dangers of drug abuse, while other topics will be conducted on illegal migration and indecent dress.
” She said the participants were drawn from five local government areas that include Malumfashi, Danja, Bakori, Funtua and the host area, Kafur.
The National Secretary of NAWOJ, Mrs. Ladi Bala, expressed appreciation to Governor Masari for sponsoring the workshop.
According to her, the workshop is timely as rape cases and violence against women was on the increase in the country
