Kano Concerned Citizens Initiative (KCCI) has commended youths in Kano for exhibiting remarkable degree of maturity in accepting the results of the just concluded rerun election in Kano.
In a press statement in Kano, chairman of the Group and one time Presidential flag bearer on the platform of the Social Democractic Party (SDP), Alhaji Bashir Othman Tofa said adequate windows are provided by laws to redress any type of wrong and that the opportunity should be used properly as there was no reason whatsoever for anyone to resort to illegalities as a means of seeking redress.
According to him, “one of the principles of achieving any vision is to be law abiding and forward looking with absolute determination and greater responsibility in ensuring peace reigned in Kano which lies on the shoulders of those who were declared winners.”
He however stated that it is most compelling for such winners to shun vindictiveness in whatever form and strive to embrace all Kanawa as one family and treat all as equals affirming that they must also pursue the agenda for development they shared with KCCI during its interactions with respective candidates.
