Kano harps on corruption in public service

Kano state government has reiterated its determination to fight corruption in all forms and ramifications, as well as reposition the Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission towards facing its prevailing challenges so as to meet the yearnings and aspiration of the populace in the state.
This was disclosed by the state Head of Civil Service, Muhammad Awwal Na`iya during the official commissioning of newly established Public Complaints and Anti Corruption office in Shanono local government area.

He said the state government as part of its cardinal objectives, has been making effort to ensure transparency and accountability in the utilisation of public resources and endowment across all MDAs and 44 local governments to ensure effective and efficient performance in line with best practices.

The HoS solicited for the full cooperation and understanding of all Kano citizens in ensuring the entrenchment of fairness and sense of responsibility in our day-to day activities by supporting the commission with vital information to enable the organization carries out its statutory functions effectively.
On his part, the chairman, Public Complaints and Anti Corruption, Barrister Muhuyi Magaji Rimin Gado, said the Shanono station was a temporary office.
He said government had intention to establish permanent offices in all 44 local governments across the state, urging staff of the Shanono office to be honest and avoid any political gathering in the office or sycophancy, the office is independent failure to comply would attract sanction.
