Federal Government’s rebuilding of Tudun Biri Community, in Igabi local government of Kaduna state, bombed by military drone in error last December will commence in two weeks, Governor Uba Sani has said.
The Kaduna state governor disclosed this on Saturday while addressing the National Executive Committee and National Working Committee meeting of Fityanul Islam of Nigeria in Kaduna State University (KASU).
He promised to allocate land for the construction of a proposed University by the Fityanul Islam of Nigeria.
Reacting to the National Leader of the Islamic group, who had earlier in his remarks called for prompt delivery of the promises made to the people of Tudun Biri, Governor Sani said he met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu five days ago on the promises made by the federal government towards rebuilding Tudun Biri.
He assured that houses, hospital, school, market and a Police Station will be built in the community under the Tudun Biri reconstruction project by the federal government.
According to the governor, “Five days ago, I met with Mr President on the need to quickly rebuild Tudun Biri and the President quickly called the Vice President and we discussed on the issues and he (the President) assured me that the work will begin in two weeks time.”
The governor who noted that a committee headed by the deputy governor, Dr Hadiza Balarabe, had been set up to manage and distribute the donations made for the community, assured that justice will be done to the people of Tudun Biri Community.
He said on the part of the Kaduna state government, it had treated all the 75 victims who were injured in the unfortunate incident and gave them psychosocial assistance, while they were accommodated for 17 days at the state women and children center before they were allowed to go home.
Speaking on the University project proposed by Fityanul Islam, Uba Sani assured that he will allocate a land for that purpose by next Tuesday, just as he promised to support the organisation ’s plan to build an orphanage home in Kaduna being the capital of Northern Nigeria.
The National Leader of Fityanul Islam, Sheikh Muhammad Arabi Abdul Fathi, called on the government to hasten the planned rebuilding of Tudun Biri Village.
He also called on the federal government to come to the aid of the intending pilgrims by subsidising the Hajj fare in view of the rise in the exchange rate which made the 2024 Hajj fare to go up.
The Islamic leader also called on the 36 state governors to make efforts in improving the economy of their states, noting that the upsurge in the rate of crimes recently experienced was as a result of economic hardship hitting hard on Nigerians.
