The Kaduna state Police Command has killed one following a fierce gun duel with a gang of terrorists on Fatika road, in Kidandan, Giwa local government area of Kaduna state.
Kaduna state Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Muhammed Jalige, who disclosed this in a late night statement on Sunday, said the Police recovered a motorcycle used by the bandits for operational purposes, adding that frequent patrols is carried out along the Fatika road to forestall future reoccurrence.
“Today 7/5/2023 at about 10:30hrs, Operatives attached to 47 Police Mobile Force (PMF) deployed to Kaya on routine patrol along Fatika Road, sighted a gang of armed bandits riding on motorcycles, dressed in military camouflage,” Jalige said.
“The gallant Operatives swung into action immediately, engaged the bandits in fierce gun duel and were given a hot chase in the process, one bandit dressed in military camouflage was neutralized, while others escaped with varying degrees of bullet wounds, One bandits operational motorcycle was recoverd.
“Meanwhile, aggressive patrols along the road have been intensified with a view to forestall future occurrence
“The Commissioner of Police Kaduna state Command, CP M.Y. Garba commended the gallantry and professionalism exhibited by the personnel, while urging them to sustain the onslaught against banditry and other forms of criminalities in the state,” Jalige added.
