Kaduna bombing: Dahiru Bauchi commiserates with victims, seeks probe, compensation

A renowned Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyyah sect in Nigeria, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, has pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to probe the Nigerian Army accidental drone attack that killed many Muslims while celebrating Maulud in Tundun Biri, Kaduna state.

Dahiru Bauchi while speaking with newsmen in Bauchi Wednesday, commiserated with the immediate families of the deceased and the entire Muslim community, praying to Allah to forgive them and grant them eternal rest.

The scholar said, “We are in pains over the aerial bombing that killed innocent people; whose fault is it? Is it the fault of the government or who? The essence of government is to protect lives and property, but not to play with people’s lives. We are calling for a thorough probe into the tragedy that left many killed and scores of innocent persons wounded.

“We want the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to ensure justice for the people killed while celebrating Maulud, and punish the officers that carried out the dastardly act in order to prevent future occurrences.

“This will also uphold the principle of protecting their dignity, fundamental human rights to life, to practice their religion without hindrance and to uphold human rights and international humanitarian law.”
