JUSUN commends Sule, Nasarawa CJ over 21 dismissed members

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) has lauded Nasarawa state Governor Abdullahi Sule and the Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Aliyu, for reinstating the 21 staff members  of the judiciary dismissed because of their roles in a strike in 2020.

JUSUN National President Marwan Mustapha made the commendation in Lafia, the state capital,  during the inauguration of the newly built secretariat of the union in the state.

He said the role played by the governor in the reinstatement of the dismissed persons showed him as  a true father.

Mustapha recalled  the relationship between the workers and the government as well as the management of the Judiciary was hostile when they visited the state during the strike.

“I am happy today, because the atmosphere is peaceful and our members, the government and the management of Judiciary are dinning and winning as one family that we are,” he said.

The JUSUN boss commended the CJ for implementing the outstanding promotions of staff from 2011 and introducing other welfare packages for sick, bereaved and staff who are getting married.

He also commended the governor for increasing the subvention which made the transformation going on in the state Judiciary possible.

On his part, the JUSUN state chairman, Mr Jimoh Musa, said he was vindicated because the struggle they did yielded results.

“We do not have anything personal against anybody, but as union officials, we needed to ensure that our members get promoted, converted after further studies and the courts are equipped with state of the art facilities.

“So, the strike and all the actions we took that time was to ensure better welfare and working environment for the staff and nothing more,” he added.
