Jos blasts: Lawmaker sues for calm, condemns act

A member of the Plateau state House of Assembly, Hon. Ibrahim Baba Hassan, has urged the people of the state, particularly the youth, to remain calm, saying that the bombing was “another trying period.”

Hassan, who made the call in a statement, condemned the “unfortunate ungodly and inhuman act that has killed and injured innocent people.”
He said: “We are put into another inhuman, unwarranted sad moment by our common enemies at a time when the people had put behind them the ugly happenings of the past; more so that the city is enjoying relative calm and peace. We must remain united to fight these common enemies of ours.”

Hassan while condemning any attempt of reprisals, he commended the people for their understanding of the situation, saying that “both Muslims and Christians were victims.”
He added that the perpetrators did what they did in orher to create division and suspicious amongst the people.
The lawmaker, who visited surviving victims of the blast in hospitals, commiserated with them and the families of those that either lost lives, sustained injuries or lost property.
